Landkreis Diepholz is a district in the southwestern part of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bordered by the districts of Nienburg, Verden, Osterholz, Cuxhaven, Oldenburg, and Vechta, as well as the North Rhine-Westphalia district of Osnabrück, and the city-state of Bremen. The administrative center is the town of Diepholz. The landscape is characterized by numerous lakes, heath areas, and the Dümmer, the second largest lake in Lower Saxony, providing recreational activities and nature conservation areas.
