Vorpommern-Rügen is a district in the northeastern part of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, established in the 2011 administrative reform. It combines the historical regions of Western Pomerania and parts of the former district of Rügen. The area is known for its stunning coastal landscapes, including the famous chalk cliffs on the island of Rügen, and the beautiful beach resorts along the Baltic Sea. Its capital is Stralsund, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its medieval architecture.
